Training & Experience
Laurie Creighton Birt obtained her California CSR license
and her RPR certification in 1981 in San Francisco. She worked
freelance depositions, public hearings and served as an official
court reporter pro tempore in both municipal and superior courts in
the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 1984, she accepted a position as
an official court reporter for the San Mateo County Superior Court.
During her 12 years in this position, she worked on both criminal
and civil cases ranging from drunk driving to death penalty and
complex civil litigation.
In 1996, Laurie became
associated with Behmke Reporting & Video Services, specializing in major,
complex civil litigation.
In October of 1998, she moved to
Knoxville, TN, where she now works as a freelance court reporter
providing the same quality, professional service to her clients,
including real-time (instant on-screen access), word indexes, ASCII
disks, condensed transcripts, and expedited turnaround when
required.

upon successfully passing both written and practical examinations

who meet eligibility requirements.
